WhatsApp, the widely used messaging platform, has introduced a new call menu feature aimed at enhancing the user experience for both individual and group chats.
The update, currently available to select beta testers, simplifies calling options and allows users to generate call links effortlessly.
According to reports, the latest update, accessible through the Google Play Store, modifies the call interface by replacing the existing voice and video call buttons with a single call button at the top of the chat window.
In individual conversations, the button initially displays a voice call icon, but upon tapping, a menu appears, allowing users to choose between a voice or video call.
The new feature also provides an option to create and share call links, making it easier for users to invite others to join an ongoing conversation. Additionally, in group chats, the update enables users to select specific members to call instead of ringing the entire group, offering greater flexibility in communication.
WhatsApp has been consistently rolling out updates to improve its calling experience, with recent additions including enhanced call quality and increased participant limits. However, the new call menu is currently in its beta testing phase, with a broader rollout expected in the coming weeks.
