According to WABetaInfo, the feature will display a message in chats whenever someone in a user’s contacts or group sets or changes their username.
Additionally, when a user successfully updates their username, they will receive a confirmation message with a confetti animation.
This update will make it easier for users to recognize contacts by keeping them informed of any username modifications.
Moreover, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will notify users not only when a username is set but also when it is changed or deleted.
This feature is currently in development and will be made available to Android users in future updates.
