Following its release for Android users, WhatsApp is now rolling out an interesting feature through its latest iOS update that allows users to generate AI-powered profile photos and group icons.
The messaging application stated that it had previously announced an Android update detailing the availability of this feature for creating general AI-powered profile pictures.
According to WABetaInfo, this functionality enables users to create unique profile images simply by entering a text prompt that describes their desired visual.
Unlike traditional profile photo options, this feature does not rely on existing photos. Instead, it generates custom images based on the user’s text descriptions, the app explained.
WhatsApp further stated that this feature will unlock new avenues for personal expression, providing users with the opportunity to create avatars, artistic illustrations, or themed visuals that reflect their individual personality or current mood.
It appears that WhatsApp now intends to offer iOS users the same AI-driven tool that is already available on the Android version, aiming to provide a consistent user experience across both platforms.
