Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the creators of the hit series “Wednesday,” have recently hinted at what could be in store for season 3. In an interview with Variety, they candidly discussed how the ending of season 2 sets up the next chapter.
Wednesday and Tyler’s Bond
Recalling the scene where Wednesday saves her on-screen brother, Pugsley, Gough said, “Part of it, in that moment, is strategic. She needs Tyler to be the distraction so she can go save Pugsley.” He also suggested that Wednesday feels a surprising sense of empathy for him. “There’s a moment where she feels bad for Tyler that he’s being betrayed by his family, because she feels betrayed by her family keeping these secrets from her.”
Gough explained that Wednesday would never admit to having a “weird kindred spirit” with Tyler, but her actions speak for themselves. He added that she would likely justify her decision to let him go as a necessary distraction to free Pugsley.
A Deep and Mysterious Connection
Millar chimed in on the on-screen bond between Wednesday and Tyler, saying, “There’s a deep connection and an appreciation that they both step outside the lines of what an ordinary person would do. There’s a respect there, and a connection that neither quite understands yet.”
Sharing a rare detail about season 3, Millar concluded, “They’re both sort of confused and surprised by their behavior with each other. They’re not quite sure of the dance of their relationship, and that certainly speaks to what could be in Season 3.”
The main cast from season 1 is set to return, including Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin.
