The Meteorological Department forecasts that the first ten days of Ramadan will be colder than average, with expected rainfall across various regions of Pakistan. The latest weather predictions indicate that temperatures will likely stay below normal during the initial part of the holy month. The department also anticipates the possibility of both heavy and light rain on Monday and Tuesday, which will contribute to the cooler weather. Islamabad and numerous other areas are expected to experience lower-than-usual temperatures, making the beginning of Ramadan notably cool. Islamabad and Rawalpindi, along with other areas, have experienced intermittent rain for three consecutive days, with Saidpur in the capital recording the highest rainfall at 8mm. The Meteorological Department predicts that the current rain spell will continue until March 1st. The ongoing rain has disrupted the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh cricket match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. A strong westerly wave has brought heavy rain and snowfall to northern Pakistan, resulting in road closures and dangerous travel conditions. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli, where heavy precipitation could cause slippery roads and landslides.
