In a charged political atmosphere, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has voiced his disappointment following the recent press conference by the ISPR. While expressing his concerns, he emphasized that the rhetoric of division must end for the sake of the country.
Barrister Gohar pointed out that the continued incarceration of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi remains a central point of friction. He suggested that allowing regular meetings with the jailed leadership could be the key to de-escalating tensions and moving matters toward stability.
Reacting to the tone used against political figures, he stated it is deeply regrettable when state institutions and politicians start labeling each other as “mental patients” or security risks. He firmly reiterated that PTI’s narrative has never been anti-state, nor will it ever be.
Striking a tone of national unity, Barrister Gohar declared, “This Pakistan belongs to us, and this Army also belongs to us.” He urged that the time has come for mutual recognition and space, calling for an end to the prevailing trust deficit. He concluded by appealing to all democratic forces in the country to step forward and play their role in reducing the ongoing political temperature.
