Prominent Pakistani actress Hira Khan, widely known for her role in the drama serial “Mere Humsafar,” recently shared a harrowing personal story of facing a robbery attempt on the streets of Karachi.
Speaking on a private TV program, Khan detailed the frightening incident, which took place during the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. She explained that she was with two friends, who were visiting from Lahore, waiting in a line to get vaccinated. “It was hot, and our car’s AC (air conditioner) wasn’t even working,” she recalled.
It was then that an unknown man approached their vehicle and threatened them, demanding, “Give me whatever you have.”
Describing the immediate sense of fear, Hira Khan said, “All three of us panicked and just started screaming at the top of our lungs, ‘We have nothing!'”
The actress revealed a tense moment during the ordeal. One of her friends, overcome with fear, was about to hand over her mobile phone to the robber. “But I immediately kicked her to stop her from giving it away,” Khan said.
Their quick thinking and loud screams paid off. The commotion attracted the attention of people nearby. As a crowd began to gather, the would-be robber got scared and quickly fled the scene.
Reflecting on the incident, Hira Khan expressed her relief. “Fortunately, none of us were harmed.” She added that they later realized the man was likely unarmed and was only trying to intimidate them. “If we had stayed silent out of fear, we definitely would have lost our valuables.”
