HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It was another warm, windy and humid day today. Overnight, more clouds will move in which will only allow our temperatures to fall to 70 degrees. As we head into the afternoon, clouds will break up leading to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures top out in the mid to upper 80s. Winds will be less intense than Saturday’s winds but it will still be breezy with wind gusts up to 30 mph.
When could we get a more significant rain to help with the drought?
On Monday we are expecting a cool front to push through, and our confidence is growing that it will bring a line of showers and thunderstorms along with it. Computer models are optimistic many of us will get at least a half inch of rainfall. That wouldn’t bust the budding drought, but it sure would help. We’ve increased your rain chance to 40%. Showers and storms may linger in a scattered variety into Tuesday morning.
How does the rest of the week look?
After the front moves through Tuesday, drier air will move in. This will lead to a comfortable day Wednesday with lower humidity and slightly lower temps. Humid and warmer conditions return by the end of the work week and will continue through next weekend.
