The US federal and local authorities conducted a sting operation on a hotel in Virginia, arresting five individuals, including a couple of Indian origin, for allegedly being involved in immoral activities and serious charges of narcotics smuggling. According to the American police, 52-year-old Kousha Sharma, alias ‘Mama’, and her husband, 55-year-old Taran Sharma, alias ‘Pap’, were using one of the hotel’s floors for immoral and illegal activities. Court documents revealed that Kousha Sharma was managing the illegal activities at the hotel, and both the couple were allegedly sharing the profits from these activities.
The Virginia police operation also led to the arrest of three other individuals – 51-year-old Margot Pierce, 40-year-old Joshua Redick, and 33-year-old Richard Smith. The police stated that between May 2023 and August 2025, FBI and Prince William County undercover agents conducted at least nine raids on the hotel. During this period, nearly eight women were reportedly forced into immoral activities and subjected to physical abuse. The police conducted 15 secret purchases of narcotics, including fentanyl and cocaine.
All the suspects have been charged with selling narcotics. According to the American police, if convicted, the suspects could face a minimum of 10 years in prison.
