The vessel, identified as ‘THE SKIPPER,’ is alleged to be linked to an illegal shipping network that provides support to terrorist organizations.
The US Attorney General justified the aggressive action, stating that the tanker had been under international sanctions for several years and was actively being used for the illicit transport of oil originating from both Venezuela and Iran.
