US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has presented a stark vision for the future of Gaza, unequivocally rejecting any possibility of Hamas’s involvement in the territory. “There will be no role for Hamas in the future of Gaza,” Rubio stated, adding that the area will be “completely demilitarized.”
In his statement, the Secretary of State claimed that progress is being made in the peace process, highlighting advancements on several fronts of President Trump’s 20-point peace plan.
As part of this new framework, he revealed discussions have taken place with Israel regarding the establishment of an “international stabilization force.” According to Rubio, various countries are already offering personnel and resources for this proposed force. However, he stressed that securing the “correct international mandate” for this force is an essential prerequisite to its deployment.
On the issue of humanitarian assistance, he clarified that the United States will personally monitor the aid delivery process.
Concluding his remarks, Rubio leveled a serious accusation at the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), labeling it a “subsidiary of Hamas.”
