A potentially devastating terror attack has been thwarted in the US state of Michigan, FBI Director Kash Patel has announced. According to US media, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the plot.
Patel revealed that the plot was orchestrated by an ISIS-inspired group. The suspects were planning an attack over the Halloween weekend and had been discussing their plans online using the codename “Pumpkin Day.”
The timely action by law enforcement successfully neutralized the threat. In a worrying development, the FBI Director confirmed that one of the five people arrested in the operation is a 16-year-old youth.
