For the first time in Pakistan, all industries and brick kilns in Punjab have been assigned unique identification codes to streamline inspections across the province.
According to the Directorate General of Environment Protection, the department has successfully completed the e-mapping of all industries. Field inspectors will now record inspection data in the EcoWatch app using these unique identification codes, ensuring that each unit’s data is readily available.
The initiative will enhance monitoring and enforcement, making violation records instantly accessible. Officials have warned that employees found violating environmental regulations will face action under the PEEDA Act.
