The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dismissed allegations of detaining Yemeni dissidents in its prisons, sparking a heated debate in the Middle Eastern region. In a statement released from Abu Dhabi, the UAE Ministry of Defense clarified that the claims of Emirati detention centers in the Hadramout region were baseless, following the withdrawal of all anti-terrorism teams from Yemen on January 2.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, all Emirati arms and military equipment have been returned, and the country’s sacrifices for Yemen’s peace are being maligned. Meanwhile, Israel has launched a surprise attack on Lebanon, firing missiles in various locations in the Al-Kfouri village, targeting Hezbollah. The escalation comes as US President Donald Trump has been forced to back down from plans to invade Iran and annex Greenland.
In response to the possibility of a US attack on Iran, Israel has raised its defense alert level. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that a US attack would be met with a strong response, as protests in the country turned violent after being hijacked by foreign elements.
Following the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Azerbaijan, and Israel have accepted invitations to join the US-led “Board of Peace.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has joined the board, which includes world leaders, to promote peace and stability in the region.
In a separate development, the US has announced its commitment to finding a solution to the Greenland dispute, with US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin stating that the country will work with European nations to resolve the issue. Japan has convicted the former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s suspected killer, Tetsuya Yamagami, of murder and sentenced him to life in prison.
In Dubai, the police have launched a new digital platform for lawyers to facilitate legal proceedings. The UK has approved plans to build a new Chinese embassy in London, while US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has stated that the country and European nations will work together to find a solution to the Greenland dispute.
The incident marks the latest in a series of training accidents involving the Indian Air Force in recent times, with US officials confirming that an American air carrier is en route to the Middle East. In a separate statement, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Netanyahu has accepted an invitation to join the US-led “Board of Peace” initiative, alongside US President Donald Trump.
