KARACHI — Two Afghan nationals living in Karachi have publicly apologized after a viral video showed them using abusive language against Pakistan amid discussions over the deportation of Afghan refugees.
According to police and local reports, one of the young men, identified as Farhad, worked at a grocery store. His video, filmed by two customers, spread rapidly on social media after he was seen making inappropriate remarks about Pakistan.
However, a new video later surfaced in which Farhad appeared in tears, expressing regret for his actions. He admitted his mistake, repeatedly said “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long live Pakistan) and “Sindh Police Zindabad”, and apologized while holding his ears and joining his hands.
The second youth, Mohibullah, who works at a local tea stall, also released a video statement expressing remorse and apologizing for his earlier comments.
The incident sparked widespread debate online — while some users appreciated the young men’s apologies, others argued that such behavior should have consequences to prevent future disrespect.
