Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to further strengthen their defense cooperation following a meeting between the two nations’ top military officials. Turkish Chief of General Staff, Selçuk Bayraktar, visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Islamabad and met with Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Khan. The meeting focused on defense and military matters, mutual interest, and regional and global security issues.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both countries have emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication and cooperation. General Syed Asim Munir highlighted the brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Turkey. The Turkish Chief of General Staff expressed gratitude for the hospitality and pledged to continue cooperation in training, joint exercises, and enhancing military capabilities.
Prior to the meeting, the Turkish General was given a Guard of Honor by the Pakistani military contingent upon his arrival at the GHQ.
