Trump Declares National Emergency on Southern Border Trump further announced a national emergency at the southern border, emphasizing that previous administrations had failed to address internal issues while engaging in costly overseas campaigns. His administration, he pledged, would ensure the protection of the nation’s borders. He signed historic executive orders, vowing to send millions of illegal immigrants and criminals back to their countries and to label organized crime groups as foreign terrorists, using the military against them.
Tax Cuts and Economic Plans Trump committed to reducing taxes for the American public, directing his cabinet to tackle inflation, and making the U.S. the largest manufacturing country in the world once again. He promised to quickly fix the country’s trade system and end government censorship, restoring the full freedom of expression.
Renaming the Gulf of Mexico and Taking Back the Panama Canal The president also announced plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and vowed to take back the Panama Canal. He emphasized the importance of rule of law in American cities and expressed his desire to establish a merit-based society while focusing on national security and protecting the nation from foreign threats.
New Gender Policy and Space Mission In another announcement, Trump declared that from now on, the U.S. would recognize only two genders: male and female. He also mentioned plans for a space mission to Mars and the sending of astronauts.
Before the inauguration, Trump met with President Biden at the White House and attended a prayer service with his wife, Melania Trump, at a Washington church. Due to extreme cold in Washington, the inauguration ceremony was held indoors for the first time in 40 years.
