US President Donald Trump has arrived in Malaysia to participate in the crucial three-day Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, where he was received with a grand and culturally rich welcome.
Upon his arrival, a red-carpet reception was held for the US President. In a notable display of cultural diplomacy, President Trump participated in a traditional dance and waved both American and Malaysian flags, signaling friendly relations.
Following the welcoming ceremony, President Trump departed for the summit venue in a car shared with the host, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The diplomatic significance of this visit is heightened by breaking media reports. It is expected that the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia will soon sign a major accord, which President Trump has personally described as a “peace deal” for the region.
