U.S. President Donald J. Trump has refuted French President Emmanuel Macron’s assertion that his early departure from the G7 Summit in Canada was to facilitate a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized Macron, labeling him “publicity seeking” and contending that the French leader “always gets it wrong.” Trump clarified that his return to Washington had “nothing to do with a Cease Fire” and alluded to a significantly more substantial reason behind his sudden departure.
“Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that,” Trump posted, adding a cryptic “Stay Tuned!”
These remarks highlight ongoing tensions between the former U.S. president and European leaders, while also fueling speculation about Washington’s forthcoming actions amidst the escalating Israel-Iran conflict.
