WASHINGTON/MOSCOW – A highly anticipated summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has been canceled.
According to a British newspaper, the cancellation followed a memo sent by Russia to the United States. The report claims that the Russian Foreign Ministry presented “excessive demands” related to ending the war in Ukraine.
The British newspaper stated that these demands ultimately “forced the termination” of the planned Budapest meeting, bringing the diplomatic effort to an abrupt halt.
