US President Donald Trump has taken a hard stance on the ongoing “religious killings” in Nigeria, ordering the US military to prepare for potential action to stop the violence.
In a statement, the President said he has instructed the “Department of War” (US Department of Defense) to be ready to intervene. Trump asserted that the United States “can eliminate terrorists in that country by force.”
Alongside the military preparations, the US President issued a direct threat to the Nigerian government. He warned that if the government in Nigeria fails to stop the religious bloodshed, the United States will also cut off all aid.
Donald Trump stated that “international assistance will not be maintained without religious freedom and citizen safety.”
