Cuba, a communist island nation, is facing a stern warning from the United States President Donald Trump. Trump has given Cuba a deadline to strike a trade deal with the US, warning that the island nation will not receive any more oil or money if it fails to do so. This announcement comes after Trump’s social media post regarding Cuba’s future, where he expressed his support for the country’s new president, Marco Rubio.
According to reports, Trump stated that Venezuela’s oil and money, which Cuba has been receiving for several years, will no longer be available. Trump also stated that the US will provide protection to Venezuela, citing the country’s massive military might. “We will ensure their safety,” Trump said, indicating that Cuba needs to strike a trade deal with the US before it’s too late.
Trump’s warning comes as Cuba’s president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, responded to the US president’s comments, asserting that Cuba is an independent and sovereign nation. Diaz-Canel also criticized Trump’s stance, saying that the US should not view human lives as a mere business transaction.
Meanwhile, protests continue in Iran, where at least 490 protesters and 48 security personnel have been killed. The Iranian government has accused the US and Israel of being responsible for the unrest. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi addressed the nation, saying that the government is working to resolve the country’s problems and ease the suffering of the people.
In other news, a car crash in the UK has left four people dead. The incident occurred in the Bolton area, where two cars collided on the Wigan Road.
