Kuala Lumpur: US President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he is capable of resolving the ongoing disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, though he feels no need to intervene at this moment.
Speaking at the ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, President Trump addressed the tensions. “I have heard that problems are arising again between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and I think I can do something to solve this issue,” he said.
The US President expressed confidence in his ability to manage the situation, stating, “I know both countries, and I am sure we will solve the Pak-Afghan issue quickly and well.”
During his address, he also made the significant claim that he has successfully stopped eight different wars in the last eight months, with only one final conflict remaining to be ended.
Trump also praised Pakistan’s leadership, calling the Prime Minister and the military command “excellent people” in whom he has “full confidence.”
He concluded by reiterating his position: “I have no doubt we can find a lasting solution, but for now, I don’t need to take any immediate steps.”
