US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that seven brand new and “beautiful” aircraft were shot down during a brief military clash between Pakistan and India in May of this year.
According to international media reports, President Trump was speaking at a dinner with business leaders during his visit to Japan. He suggested that the tariffs his administration imposed on various countries have played a key role in preventing several wars.
“If you look at India and Pakistan, they were about to get into it, and in their brief clash, seven new and beautiful planes were destroyed,” Trump said.
He further revealed that he had allegedly warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir that the US would not make any trade deals with them if the two countries went to war.
According to Trump, “We made it clear that if you guys fight, there will be no deal, and within 24 hours, the matter was over.”
It is important to remember that after the clash in May, Pakistan had announced that it had shot down 6 Indian fighter jets, including a Rafale, and also provided evidence. However, India denied the claims of losing any of its aircraft.
