NFL star Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift recently announced their engagement on social media, but details about the proposal are now coming to light. According to Travis’s father, Ed Kelce, in an interview with News 5 Cleveland, his son proposed at home in Missouri about two weeks ago.
Ed shared that Travis had originally planned a more elaborate “grand thing” for this week. However, both Ed and Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, advised him that the moment would be special no matter where it happened, as long as he got down on one knee.
The proposal itself was an intimate and romantic moment in a garden at Travis’s home. Travis reportedly suggested they have a glass of wine outside before dinner. Once they were out there, he asked her to marry him. Ed described the moment as “beautiful.” Shortly after, the newly engaged couple video-called their families to share the happy news. Ed, who had known about the plan for months, said the two are “just two young people very much in love.”
