New York —
Marvel fans were treated to an exciting surprise as Tom Holland returned to the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day for the first time since his injury — joined by Sadie Sink from Stranger Things in what appears to be her Marvel debut.
According to the Daily Mail, filming took place on Sunday, October 19, in New York City. Sadie was seen wearing a beige hoodie and khaki coat, while Tom suited up in his Spider-Man costume, his mask pulled down as he rehearsed an intense action sequence.
Set photos revealed a crashed car on a shattered pavement with a New York fire engine parked nearby, hinting at a large-scale destruction scene.
This marks Sadie Sink’s first appearance on the Spider-Man set. While her role remains undisclosed, speculation online is running wild. Some fans believe she may be playing Jean Grey, the red-haired mutant from the X-Men universe, potentially signaling a crossover.
Others, however, are wary that she might be cast as Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacy, roles that already carry strong fan attachments — particularly with Zendaya still expected to return as MJ.
One fan posted on X,
“If Sadie Sink plays Mary Jane when she could be Jean Grey — and we already have Zendaya giving us our beautiful MJ — whatever, dude.”
Another added humorously,
“If Sadie Sink ends up as Gwen Stacy or MJ, I won’t survive.”
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release in July 2026 and is expected to expand the multiverse narrative following No Way Home.
