Ahead of the premiere of Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Cruise has spoken about his aspirations to participate in musicals and collaborate with Ben Stiller.
During his discussion at the BFI in London, the actor expressed his strong desire to collaborate with Ben Stiller.
Cruise stated, “I’d really enjoy working with Ben again. We are big admirers of Ben Stiller, and he is incredibly talented. Observing his work as a director and the projects he has developed, he is a good friend, and we are great fans of his; he’s truly gifted.”
Furthermore, he disclosed that he has numerous dream projects. “I have many. Definitely! Absolutely, certainly musicals. You know, dramas, action, adventures. The possibilities are endless,” Cruise said.
Cruise also shared that he frequently tries to learn new skills on set, encouraging his fellow actors to do the same.
“I advise actors to train, pursue their interests, be it music, instruments, or anything else. In my career, whether it was an underwater scene you saw me perform – [Ridley Scott’s] Legend was my first experience with an underwater sequence, and I likely asked, ‘What’s that camera? What are you doing?’ I am naturally very curious,” Cruise explained.
He added, “I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll store that information.’ Then I became proficient, and now I’ll do another underwater sequence, and then another, and another, and another. Similarly, I’ll study music and then perform in a musical, or I’ll conceptualize a character, then find a script, and integrate that character into the script.’”
Tom Cruise’s forthcoming movie, Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is scheduled for release on May 23rd, 2025.
