American comedian Tiffany Haddish has shared insights into how she prepares herself for a stand-up comedy performance. For those unfamiliar, the star rose to prominence for her breakthrough role as Dina in the 2017 comedy movie Girls Trip, where her character reconnected with her best friends Ryan, Sasha, and Lisa for a trip to New Orleans.
During a conversation with US Weekly, the Grammy winner candidly discussed a specific ritual she observes before beginning her stand-up comedy routine.
Haddish began by explaining, “It’s my personal feel-good music. Not even my team hears it. It’s in my AirPods. It’s basically Hz tones — 420, 480, 550.”
Meanwhile, the Night School actress mentioned that it typically takes ‘two hours’ for her makeup to be done before a high-profile event.
Revealing that a makeover team managed her wardrobe, makeup, and hairstyle for her performance, she stated, “A lot of people will be pulling on you, and you need to be in a good space mentally and spiritually in order to handle that.”
The 45-year-old comedian concluded, “Especially on those lady days! You really just want to fight people because you’re dying. There’s a funeral happening, and nobody knows but you!”
It is pertinent to note that on April 16, Tiffany Haddish hosted the prestigious 29th Annual Fashion Group International (FGI) Rising Star ceremony in New York. The event was attended by various fashion luminaries, including Jonathan Cohen, Elie Tahari, Frederick Anderson, Dennis Basso, and NJ Falk.
