HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Thousands of residents in the Houston area are in the dark as thunderstorms roll in.
According to CenterPoint Energy, more than 16,000 customers were reported without power at about 5:20 p.m. Monday. By 6:15 p.m., that number had dropped to about 10,500 customers.
By 7:45 p.m., a little over 7,300 customers still remained without power. By 10:09 p.m., that number lowered again to about 4,200.
The outages were spread across the greater Houston area, with a slightly higher number on the west side of the city.
