Leslie Bibb, known for her role in The White Lotus, has shed light on the enigma surrounding her character.
In an interview with People Magazine, Leslie disclosed that fellow comedian Sarah Silverman was the one who ultimately solved the puzzle.
The actress revealed that Sarah had approached the series’ creator, Mike White, about an element that had left fans baffled. Leslie expressed her gratitude, stating, “Thanks, Sarah Silverman.”
One particular scene in the series featured Parker Posey’s character feigning ignorance of Leslie’s character when they encountered each other, despite having known each other previously.
Leslie remarked, “I mean, it was just one scene. That was it. But isn’t it crazy? Everybody’s like, ‘We need more.’ It’s so crazy what sticks, because when you read the script, it didn’t feel like, ‘we need more of this,’ or something. But then when you see the show, everyone’s like, ‘No, we need more of this.'”
She reminisced about watching the clip herself, saying, “Sam [Rockwell, who plays Frank on The White Lotus] is like, ‘You’ve got to watch it.’ So, I watched that clip and I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so terrible to me.'”
“Poor Kate. Nobody remembers. Nobody remembers poor Kate,” she added.
Notably, Sarah Silverman had previously shared her decision to reach out to creator Mike White, stating, “I loathe doing that because I feel like everyone must be asking him, but I did. I did text him out of this one, I emailed him and I said, ‘What’s up with Leslie Bibb — how come we didn’t find out why Parker Posey iced Leslie Bibb?'”
“‘Why did she pretend not to know her? Is it something you didn’t get to that got cut out, or like, what’s the answer?’ And he goes, ‘No, I was just showing that she’s a bitch,'” Sarah concluded.
