Dallas, Texas: On the occasion of Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s arrival in Washington, the Pakistani community residing in Dallas–Fort Worth organized a dignified welcome and expression of solidarity event under the banner of the organization “Stand with Pakistan” to mark his arrival in the United States.
On this occasion, a special cyber advertising truck was also dispatched across the city, which roamed throughout the day in downtown Dallas and along major highways. The truck displayed welcome messages for the Field Marshal on his arrival in Washington and tributes to Pakistan’s recent military victories.
This truck and accompanying vehicles became a center of attention for local citizens and, in the form of a caravan, roamed various parts of the city, adorned with patriotic songs and decorated with Pakistan’s flags. At the end of the day, a grand dinner reception was held, attended by Pakistan’s Consul General Aftab Chaudhry, Texas State Assembly Member Terry Meza, and several prominent members of the Pakistani community.
While addressing the ceremony, Consul General Aftab Chaudhry said that the Pakistani armed forces bravely defended against recent Indian aggression and, under the professional leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, gave a strong response to the enemy. He stated that the Pakistani community across the United States is expressing love and admiration for the Field Marshal in recognition of his national services. He said that the Dallas community wishes for Field Marshal Asim Munir to visit Texas as well, and that he will certainly convey this wish to the Government of Pakistan and the military leadership.
Consul General Aftab Chaudhry further said that the relations between Pakistan and the United States span several decades, and Field Marshal being invited to the 250th anniversary celebrations of the U.S. Army reflects these long-standing ties. He praised the role of Pakistanis residing in the United States, saying they have played an important role in the development of American society and economy. He urged overseas Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan, and said that, for this purpose, an investment conference and seminar were also organized in Dallas with the support of the consulate.
While addressing the event, Texas State Assembly Member Terry Meza said that she is happy to be part of this dignified ceremony held in celebration of Pakistan’s victory, and to participate in welcoming Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. She said that Pakistan Day was also officially celebrated in the Texas Assembly, which is a significant symbol of the relationship.
Terry Meza said that she feels very close to the Pakistani, Kashmiri, and Sikh communities, and she is proud to stand with societies that believe in peace, equality, and justice.
She referred to a personal incident and said that she had been formally invited to the 75th Independence Day celebration of India in Dallas; however, one day before the event, her office was informed that the event had been canceled, which was not true. She said she still went to the event and was surprised to see that the documentary shown was completely devoid of minority representation.
In her speech, Terry Meza said that she has always raised her voice against extremist thinking, and for that reason, supporters of Modi’s government in India do not like her. She described both Modi and former U.S. President Trump as leaders possessing the same extremist mindset, saying such leadership divides societies and promotes hatred, while the world urgently needs peace, diversity, and justice.
The event was also addressed by community leaders Syed Fayaz Hassan, Amir Makhani, Hafeez Khan, Ghazala Habib, Sohail Pirzada, and Iftikhar Darpan. The speakers paid strong tribute to the national services of Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him the “guardian of the Pakistani nation.” They said that Field Marshal accomplished what no previous Pakistani general had achieved — as a professional and apolitical military leader, he not only stopped the enemy through a short yet decisive military operation but also paved the way for peace in South Asia.
The speakers said that no nation celebrates war, but sometimes, maintaining a balance of power is necessary to avoid complete destruction — and Field Marshal Asim Munir established that balance.
At the end of the ceremony, participants raised passionate slogans of “Long live Pakistan” and “Long live General Asim Munir.” These were not just emotional expressions but living declarations of loyalty to the homeland from abroad.
