Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain has declared that terrorist sanctuaries operating from Afghan soil are unacceptable, warning that Pakistan reserves the right to respond if cross-border attacks continue.
Speaking to the media in Muridke, the minister emphasized that while Afghanistan remains a brotherly Islamic nation, its alignment with any foreign proxy interests, particularly India’s, will not be tolerated. He accused India of fueling instability in the region and reiterated that Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty or security.
“Afghanistan must ensure that its territory is not used against Pakistan,” Rana Tanveer stated. “We desire peace, prosperity, and development for the Afghan people, but terrorist networks must be dismantled for lasting stability.”
The minister also criticized previous administrations, remarking that “those who once pleaded for parole have now pushed Pakistan-Afghanistan relations toward confrontation.”
Turning to domestic affairs, Rana Tanveer underscored the importance of adopting modern agricultural technologies to boost productivity and strengthen the national economy. He maintained that policy continuity and political stability are essential for transforming Pakistan into a major economic force.
He concluded by reaffirming the government’s determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms, asserting that peace and security are indispensable to national progress.
