Teddi Mellencamp has finally responded to the news of Brandon Blackstock’s death from melanoma. On the latest episode of her podcast, Two Ts In A Pod, with co-host Tamra Judge, the 44-year-old TV personality revealed that the passing of Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband “really hit me hard.”
Mellencamp, who is currently battling Stage 2 melanoma herself, said, “I wish I would have missed that little detail in the World Wide Web because then I started doing research and they were so quiet about [his diagnosis].” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum added, “I mean, we know he passed from melanoma. They announced that.”
Judge suggested that the melanoma might have metastasized, to which Mellencamp replied, “I was wondering, when did it metastasize? This is just where my head goes from being in the situation—did he decline treatment?” She added that there are “so many different ways that this could have happened, and I have one million percent respect their choice to keep it private.”
Judge then suggested that Mellencamp “reach out” to Kelly Clarkson for more details, but Mellencamp responded that everyone’s situation is different. “Maybe he did immunotherapy? Maybe he did chemotherapy? We don’t know,” she said. “I don’t know, but those kind of stories hit you hard, when it directly sounds similar to something that you’re going through.” For those who are unaware, Brandon Blackstock passed away on August 7 from melanoma.
