LONDON – Pop sensation Taylor Swift has firmly stated her lack of interest in space exploration, drawing a sharp contrast with fellow celebrities who have embraced space tourism. The 35-year-old artist revealed her strong aversion during a recent interview with the BBC.
When directly asked if she would consider traveling to space, Swift’s response was immediate and emphatic: “Never!”
The Life of a Showgirl singer explained her reluctance, emphasizing the perceived lack of motivation and high anxiety associated with the idea. “Why would I do that? There’s no reason to do that. I don’t want to do that, ever.”
Her refusal was punctuated by a palpable sense of panic: “I never… oh my God, no! I don’t want to know. I don’t. I can’t. I don’t. No.”
The Lover hitmaker detailed her fears, including the possibility of not returning, and dismissed the experience as ultimately futile due to public skepticism: “It’s cold, it’s scary, I don’t know if I can come back down. If I go, no one will believe I went. It doesn’t matter if you go, because everyone thinks you didn’t go, or they have a weird take on it. I have no fascination.”
The Grammy-winner’s comments come months after fellow singer Katy Perry traveled to the edge of space in April as part of Blue Origin’s all-female space mission, a flight from West Texas that lasted just over ten minutes.
