An equipment malfunction has delayed Tarrant County’s election results by at least several hours, Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley said late Tuesday.
The Republican said that he is working with the manufacturer to determine what went wrong, and that the county hopes to have official results by 4 or 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Whitley, who is retiring, was speaking at an election night watch party for former Fort Worth mayor Betsy Price, a candidate in the GOP primary to replace him. She was trailing Southlake attorney Tim O’Hare after early voting results were released Tuesday.
“Computers are great until they’re not, and right now they’re not,” Whitley said. “We’ll make sure we get it right, and that’s the key.”
