The Tamil Nadu Police in India has declared the recent fire at the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) office and the subsequent death of a woman as a pre-meditated murder. According to Indian media, the police have arrested the Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) for allegedly setting the fire using petrol, killing the senior officer, Kalyani Namby, in the process.
The investigation revealed that the accused had poured petrol in Kalyani Namby’s cabin to set the fire, allegedly to silence her after she had discovered irregularities in the insurance claims. The police found that the cabin was locked from the outside with a chain, which raised suspicions about the crime being pre-planned.
A similar incident occurred in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, where a woman conspired with her five brothers to kill her husband. However, the husband managed to escape due to good luck. The victim’s son told the police that his mother had called them just minutes before the fire, expressing distress and asking them to inform the police.
The police investigation revealed that Kalyani Namby had recently exposed irregularities in the insurance claims and had warned the accused against such actions, which could be the motive for the murder.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has announced a new plan to address water scarcity through artificial rain. The Abu Dhabi authorities stated that the plan aims to provide relief to the drought-stricken areas through synthetic rain.
