ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, has hailed the joint communique from the recent Pak-Afghan Taliban negotiations as a “victory for Pakistan’s principled stance.”
Responding to the outcomes of the Istanbul talks, the minister expressed optimism that “things will move forward in a positive way.” Chaudhry reiterated Pakistan’s fundamental position, stating that the nation demands that “no one’s territory be used against Pakistan.”
He emphasized that peace in Afghanistan is directly linked to the peace and stability of Pakistan.
However, the Minister of State also delivered a stark warning. He cautioned that if Afghanistan “becomes India’s proxy,” it is possible that “Afghanistan may lose its sovereignty.”
Talal Chaudhry added that Afghanistan “must understand that India cannot guarantee its security or sovereignty.”
