Layyah police have detained a suspect who abducted and sexually assaulted a woman.
According to reports, upon receiving the complaint, District Police Officer (DPO) Layyah, Muhammad Ali Waseem, assembled a specialized team that acted rapidly, successfully rescuing the victim within hours and apprehending the offender.
The accused had forcibly abducted the woman at gunpoint from the Pir Jagi Sharif shrine and sexually assaulted her at an undisclosed location.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the accused, and prompt legal proceedings have been initiated. Layyah DPO Muhammad Ali Waseem stressed that the police are dedicated to implementing Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s policy of zero tolerance towards violence and harassment against women.
Muhammad Ali Waseem stated that Layyah police are committed to taking immediate action in cases of harassment and abuse, ensuring protection and legal assistance for victims.
