Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO, is hosting a significant international training course in collaboration with the Inter Islamic Network on Space Sciences and Technology (ISNET). The course, titled “Geo-AI for Forest Information,” is scheduled to run from October 27 to 31, 2025, at the SUPARCO Complex in Karachi.
The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance the professional capabilities of experts from ISNET member countries. Participants from various nations, including Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Tunisia, Iran, and Pakistan, are attending the program.
Through a series of lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, the training will focus on applying artificial intelligence (AI) and Geo-information Systems (GIS) to critical environmental challenges. This includes effective forest monitoring, the conservation of biodiversity, and sustainable land management.
According to a SUPARCO spokesperson, this course represents another key milestone in ISNET’s ongoing efforts. It aims to promote international cooperation and knowledge sharing in using space-based applications to achieve environmental stability and build climate resilience.
