The largest school districts in North Texas have initiated their annual Summer Meals programs, ensuring students have access to meals during the summer break.
DALLAS ISD SUMMER MEALS PROGRAM
Dallas Independent School District is participating in the Summer Meals program in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Texas Department of Agriculture. They provide breakfast and lunch to anyone under 18 and students with disabilities up to 21 years old, extending beyond enrolled students. According to Debbie Rowley, Dallas ISD’s executive director, the program aims to address hunger throughout the summer months. FORT WORTH ISD SUMMER MEALS PROGRAM
