A selection of X-Men actors are set to reprise their iconic roles in the forthcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. However, the official cast announcement notably excluded Halle Berry, who portrayed Storm in the original mutant franchise.
In response, she conveyed to Screen Rant, “Just keep waiting! I won’t be there! [laughs] It’s simply not happening.”
This isn’t the first instance where the actress has been overlooked. Her former X-Men colleagues recently reprised their characters in Deadpool and Wolverine.
“Blake Lively once inquired, when we crossed paths at a Marc Jacobs fashion event, ‘Would you consider appearing as Storm in my husband Ryan Reynolds’ movie?’ I replied, ‘Certainly, if he extended an invitation,’ but he never did,” she previously disclosed to Comic Book.
It’s worth mentioning that Halle’s last appearance as Storm was in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Conversely, Marvel has revealed the cast for the upcoming Avengers film, featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, among others.
