Sri Lankan cricket team’s batting coach, Julian Wood, has expressed profound disappointment with his squad’s recent performance, conceding that the team is recurringly committing the same errors, which is severely impacting their results on the field.
During a post-match press conference, Julian Wood highlighted the team’s lapses, lamenting that Sri Lanka should have secured a win in the first match but failed to capitalize on the opportunity, while the score in the second match was also below expectations. He did, however, commend the batters for their strong performance during the Powerplay overs.
The coach set a clear direction for the team’s future, emphatically stating that the most crucial step now is to immediately commence preparations for the 2027 World Cup.
Julian Wood praised the atmosphere for the sport in Pakistan and mentioned his enjoyment of cricket played in the country. He also expressed his pleasure at the support shown by Pakistani fans towards the Sri Lankan team.
