The iconic 90s band, the Spice Girls, is once again the subject of reunion speculation.
In 2012, all five members – Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Melanie C, and Emma Bunton – last officially reunited to perform at the London Olympics closing ceremony.
Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the band revealed that Geri Halliwell has yet to commit to a reunion, citing her being “always too busy” with other commitments.
“Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas,” the source stated.
Referring to the band’s manager, Simon Fuller, the insider continued, “If Simon were to get involved, this would absolutely take any tour to the next level.”
Furthermore, the source discussed Victoria Beckham, the singer, fashion designer, and television personality, telling the outlet, “Unfortunately Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out.”
However, the source offered a glimmer of hope, adding, “But there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing. She would always want to honour the girls’ history.”
For those unfamiliar, the Spice Girls formed in 1994 and have sold over 100 million records globally, including hits like “Wannabe,” “Spice Up Your Life,” “Say You’ll Be There,” and “Mama.”
