Spectacular Super Sixty Cricket League Draft in Washington – League to Kick Off in Doha This November

Washington: The grand inaugural players’ draft of the Super Sixty Cricket League (SSCL) was held at the prestigious National Press Club in Washington. The event drew a remarkable gathering of global cricket icons, team owners, and passionate fans. The league is set to take place from November 5 to 16, 2025, in Doha, Qatar, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the world of cricket.
The ceremony opened with a welcoming address by Mr. Kirk Graves, Director of League Operations, who greeted the distinguished guests and expressed the league’s vision of introducing a fresh, exhilarating global cricket format that combines innovation, entertainment, and top-level competition.
All six franchise team owners were present at the draft, carefully selecting their squads. The player selection process was overseen by former ICC Chairman Haroon Lorgat and League CFO Nooruddin Ismail, who officially announced the picks for each team. In-depth commentary accompanied the selections, focusing on team strategies, player strengths, and their potential impact on the tournament.
Adding to the prestige of the event, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, attended as a special guest. He praised the SSCL’s vision for promoting cricket on a global scale and highlighted Pakistan’s proud cricketing legacy, emphasizing that this league would create new opportunities for the sport’s future.
The evening was made even more memorable by the presence of renowned Pakistani film and television star Saud Qasmi, whose appearance delighted fans of both cricket and entertainment.
SSCL Founder and CEO Azad Qasmi described the draft as the dawn of a new era for cricket. He stated,
“Our goal is to make SSCL a global platform where talent, entertainment, and the true spirit of the game come together. With the support of team owners, partners, and the international community, we are confident this league will captivate cricket fans worldwide.”

• Doha Legends
• Dukhan Warriors
• Arrian Titans
• Ras Laffan Strikers
This first edition of the Super Sixty Cricket League is expected to not only bring a new dimension to the sport globally but also establish Doha, Qatar, as an emerging hub of world cricket.
