Batting first, South Africa set a formidable target, scoring an impressive 319 for 7 in their 50 overs. The innings was masterfully anchored by their captain, Laura Wolvaardt, who played a magnificent and decisive knock of 169 runs.
In pursuit of the challenging 320-run target, the English batting lineup crumbled under pressure. The entire team was dismissed for just 194 runs, ending their campaign in disappointment and sealing a historic and joyous victory for South Africa.
