Makkah, Saudi Arabia – Renowned anchor and actor Tausiq Haider, known for his eloquent speech and modern outlook, has found himself at the center of a heated religious and moral debate on social media following the publication of photos and videos during his performance of Umrah pilgrimage.
The actor is currently in Makkah al-Mukarramah to perform the pilgrimage. After completing Umrah, when he shared a special message standing in the Haram Sharif, public attention was drawn to the tattoos on his body, which were clearly visible underneath the Ihram attire.
As soon as the video surfaced, the internet became sharply divided. On one side, he faced intense criticism, with many users questioning the religious permissibility of having tattoos while performing a sacred ritual. One user remarked with disappointment, “I have been your fan since the PTV era, but you shouldn’t have gotten tattoos.”
Conversely, a large segment of users defended Tausiq Haider. Their stance was that people should refrain from judging the religious matters of others. One user emphasized that “Those who are concerned about his tattoos should remember that this is a matter between him and Allah.” Another advised, “Stop judging people, Allah knows best.” This incident highlights the duality of social standards in Pakistan regarding personal freedom, artists’ private lives, and religious boundaries.
