The crackdown on drug trafficking continues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but a recent operation has brought to light an alarming trend: the exploitation of children by criminal networks. The KP Excise Department successfully intercepted two young boys in Mardan who were found to be smuggling a significant haul of 2 kilograms of Ice (methamphetamine).
According to the Excise Department spokesperson, the minors had tightly concealed the deadly substance by strapping it to their legs—a tactic often used by organized trafficking rings to avoid detection. During their statement to the Excise Police, the boys confessed that the Ice was being transported to Rawalpindi, confirming that the drug movement involved an inter-provincial route. This incident underscores the tragedy of criminal syndicates preying on vulnerable youth to act as carriers.
A formal case has been registered at the Excise Police Station in Mardan. Authorities have launched an intensive search to trace and apprehend the other members of this criminal network. Officials emphasize that their primary goal is not just the seizure of drugs but dismantling the groups that profit from corrupting young lives and pushing dangerous narcotics onto the streets.
