HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A significant police presence was observed near Houston’s Astrodome area on Friday afternoon, following the conclusion of a pursuit involving two jugging suspects.
The Houston Police Department reported that the chase began around 3:30 p.m. near the South Loop, following reports of a stolen vehicle. The situation ended near Old Spanish Trail and Greenbriar, where police were seen placing a person in handcuffs. Shortly thereafter, another individual was loaded into an ambulance.
HPD confirmed that two suspects involved in jugging—a crime where criminals follow victims from a bank or ATM to steal their money—were arrested. Officers used a PIT maneuver to stop and apprehend the suspects.
Authorities have not yet released further information regarding any injuries or the location where the alleged jugging occurred.
