Karachi, Sindh – In a shocking turn of events, a senior student from Shah Latif Town has accused the Sukkur Police of extortion and kidnapping. The student, Hussain, claimed that three police mobiles arrived at his house late at night, took him to the police station, and demanded Rs. 10 lakh and then Rs. 5 lakh. The alleged police officers claimed to be part of the anti-vehicle lifting cell and even kidnapped the owner of the car, along with the vehicle.
According to Hussain, the police officers took Rs. 50,000 and left him at 6 am, but his mobile phone, purse, and keys are still with the police. In response, the police claimed that they have no knowledge of the alleged extortion and have promised to call the accused officer, Jaber, for questioning. The police have also promised to return Hussain’s belongings to him.
The situation took a turn for the worse after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Abdul Khaliq has ordered a high-level and transparent investigation into the matter, with SSP Malikar being tasked with leading the inquiry.
The incident has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many criticizing the PTI leadership for their alleged involvement in the incident. Former MQM leader Mustafa Kamal has come out in support of the PTI, claiming that the party has been unfairly targeted. However, other PTI leaders, such as Talal Chaudhry, have expressed concerns about the party’s involvement in the incident.
In related news, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced that the provincial government will adopt a similar approach towards the PTI as it did with the MQM. The governor has also announced that the government will focus on improving the city’s infrastructure, including the Jhangir Road, which has been a major issue for residents.
