The Sindh Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has stated that the provincial government itself will seek permission from the federal government to hold a jalsa (public meeting) in Bagh-e-Jinnah. During an appearance on Geo News’ program “Naya Pakistan,” Nasir Hussain Shah said that the PTI had been told to hold their jalsa in the ground, but they were already present on the road. He also stated that the provincial government would seek permission from the federal government to hold a jalsa in Bagh-e-Jinnah.
Senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser responded by stating that, under the Charter of Democracy, the party could hold a jalsa. He also claimed that the Constitution and law allowed the party to hold public gatherings. Asad Qaiser stated that a large number of people were currently present in Bagh-e-Jinnah, and an investigation would be conducted into the previous day’s incident.
The provincial minister also claimed that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been safely transported from Hyderabad to Karachi, with a full protocol and security provided by the Sindh Police. He stated that the provincial government had welcomed the Chief Minister, taken care of him, and would not have welcomed him if the President had prohibited him from entering.
However, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) had not complained to the provincial government, said Nasir Hussain Shah, adding that the party had announced holding the jalsa on the road after the notification was issued.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature is expected to range between 8-10 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 24 degrees Celsius.
